Come and celebrate with us at the Matariki Whānau Festival on July 3rd. The event is being held on the Huapai Hub new stage, located just behind the Arts Centre. Our doors will be open with market stalls and free activities. You’ll be able to make your own Matariki inspired artwork to add to our community installation in the Pod. While Danish artist Maria Owens, who currently has an exhibition on display, will be creating a live artwork in the Main Gallery. Then later in the month, we host the Timatanga Community School Trash to Art Exhibition. Supported by Trash to Fashion expert Sue Scarf, the tamariki worked for a term to explore various trash materials and experiment with ways to transform them. Also, here in July, Kumeu Live concerts include Alargo and Derek Lind. While Creative Matters and Brain Play will both provide fun school holiday activities. Visit www.kumeuarts.org.
