About the Kumeu Courier

The Kumeu district includes Riverhead, Taupaki, Kumeu, Huapai and Waimauku which spans a diverse range of rural, lifestyle and residential areas. It also encapsulates a broad cross-section of interests that includes viticulture, livestock, equine, kiwifruit, horticulture, hydroponics, hospitality and tourism to name a few.  It is this collaborative thinking and approach that flows through to the introduction of the Kumeu Courier, a monthly newsletter that is circulated to over 10,000 households throughout the area with distribution covering Bethells Beach to Herald Island in the South to Muriwai and Woodhill in the North.

The publication encourages letters to the Editor and invites meeting summaries from local community groups to ensure that news is transferred to all the community effectively. If you are involved in a district community group and would like to submit information on a regular basis please email the material including any photographs to:

  • 300 colour copies circulated via New World Supermarket in Kumeu
  • 300 colour copies circulated via Kumeu Postshop in Kumeu
  • 300 colour copies circulated via Mitre 10 Mega in Westgate
  • 300 colour copies circulated via both Countdowns in Westgate
  • 100 colour copies circulated via Kumeu Library in Kumeu
  • 100 colour copies circulated via Kauri Gum Store in Riverhead
  • 100 colour copies circulated via Borich in Riverhead
  • 100 colour copies circulated via Top Shop in Muriwai
  • 1000 colour copies circulated within the community via letterbox distribution per month

The editorial and advertising deadline is the 15th day of the month prior to publication date.

The Kumeu Courier is a not-for-profit newsletter and all advertising proceeds from the publication per annum are distributed to the local charities that make Kumeu and its districts the very best place to live. The charities include but are not limited to:

  • Kumeu Fire Brigade
  • Muriwai Surf Lifesaving
  • Project Cherry Tree
  • Riverhead Restoration Team
